There are many ways to get involved and support our community response volunteer team. Start by filling out our Community Resilience Survey so we can learn about your household’s needs, skills, and resources.
Next, sign up officially with Vibrant Hawaiʻi’s volunteer registry through DARCI. Registration connects you with volunteer opportunities across Hawaiʻi County, including RRRN’s community response work. It also supports volunteer insurance coverage and hour tracking—important for documenting community service and supporting funding. Coverage depends on the applicable program and volunteer assignment.

Volunteer Opportunities and Community Response
To volunteer through DARCI, first register as a Citizen, then complete the Volunteer Screening Application. Once submitted, you join the available volunteer pool, where Partner Organizations and Centers can review your interests, skills, availability, and other information to match you with volunteer opportunities.

How to Register as a Volunteer in DARCI
Step 1 — Register as a Citizen
- Go to hi.blueskyglobal.io.
- Select Register.
- Leave the account type set to Citizen.
- Complete the registration form.
- Submit the registration.
- Log in to DARCI using your new Citizen account.
Step 2 — Open the Volunteer Registration Option
- From the Citizen dashboard, locate the yellow box that says Are you interested to Volunteer?.
- Select Click here.
Step 3 — Complete the Volunteer Screening Application
The application collects information to help DARCI match residents with appropriate volunteer opportunities:
- First Name and Last Name.
- Preferred Name or Nickname.
- Email Address and Mobile Phone.
- Home Zip Code and District / Community.
- Date of Birth.
- Preferred Language(s).
- Emergency Contact information.
- Skills, interests, and availability.
- Background check information, if required.
Step 4 — Submit the Volunteer Application
- Review the information entered.
- Confirm that required fields are complete.
- Submit the Volunteer Screening Application.
Once submitted, you are added to the available volunteer pool for review by Partner Organizations and Centers.
